A Note From Your Director

While Jim Cantrell is taking care of health matters, please forward all
requests for frequency coordination in Jim's geographical area of
responsibility to Roger Gregory, SERA's South Carolina Director.

Welcome to the South Carolina District for the SERA.  I am Roger Gregory, W4RWG.  I live in Union, SC, and have been a ham since 1993.  I am an Extra Class Operator and trustee of three repeaters coordinated by the SERA.  As the Director for South Carolina, I promise to handle all coordination issues in a timely matter.  I will be coordinating repeaters in western South Carolina while Jim Cantrell, WJ4C, the SC Vice Director will be coordinating repeaters in eastern South Carolina. (See the South Carolina map on this page to determine which coordinator should receive your application).

Repeater coordination in South Carolina is becoming very difficult on 2 meters, as it is in all states, under the blanket of SERA.  Although I understand that many of you want a two meter repeater, please consider 50 MHz, 222 MHz, 440 MHz , or even 1270 MHz  for your repeater project.  If your club would like to learn more about SERA or repeater coordinations, contact me or Jim and we will try to make arrangements to come to your meeting.  As your Director, I work closely with the SERA Frequency Coordinators in North Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee to insure that new repeaters can operate without causing interference to each other.

If you have a coordinated repeater in South Carolina, a datasheet is mailed to you or your trustee each year. It is very important that you return your datasheet in a timely manner.  If you are not receiving a datasheet (a separate one for each repeater that has been coordinated), contact me at once. This is the only way we can know if your repeater is still on the air.  In order for SERA Frequency Coordinators to do their job, they must have accurate and up to date information. Contact me for any assistance.

Thank You and 73,
Roger W. Gregory, W4RWG
